SEASON:
The 2025 SMKA Club Race season is an 8-race series with 1 drop race (dropped race cannot be a race in which the driver was DQ’ed). Series championship is calculated off best 7 races.
SMKA HAS GONE TO ALL HOOSIER TIRES FOR THE 2025 SEASON. PLEASE SEE THE CLASS LIST FOR THE APPROVED TIRE. THIS WILL BE REQUIRED BY ROUND 2 APRIL 6TH RACE
RACE DAYS:
Round 1: Sunday, March 2nd – 2024 Tire rule OK
Round 2: Sunday, April 6th – 2025 Tire rule enforced
Round 3: Sunday, May 18th
Round 4: Sunday, June 8th
Round 5: Sunday, July 6th
Round 6: Sunday, August 3rd
Round 7: Sunday, September 7th
Round 8: Sunday, October 5th
SEASON REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the 2025 SMKA Championship, each driver must be a SMKA member by May 1, 2025, and must compete in a minimum of 4 SMKA races during the 2024 season.
AWARDS:
Awards will be presented following the final race of the day. Each class will have a Fast Qualifier (, 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place. other awards will be given to any kid kart driver that places in 4th or more places back.

Living timing through Speed hive.
RULES:
WKA Rules will be utilized, with Briggs & Stratton Engine rules for LO206 classes.

ADDITIONAL POINTS INFORMATION:
If a driver receives any of the follow, their points will be calculated as written:
DQ = 0 points
DNS = 0 points
DNF = points will be given on what position the driver finished after dropping out as calculated by the Race Director.
Current points will be maintained by two board members on the race committee and updated on the website after each race.
SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS TIE BREAKERS:
Order of Operations
- Driver who finished highest in the final race of the season, highest finish wins.
- How many times the tied drivers beat each other in all the finals through the season, highest comparative finishing position is the winner.
- How many times the tied drivers beat each other in all the semi-finals through the season, highest comparative finishing position is the winner.
- Driver with the most official fastest qualifiers in the season.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:
Entry Form
Minor release for drivers 17 and younger
Transponder rentals available (transponder rental is required if you do not have your own)
Wrist band for driver is included as part of race entry; additional wristbands available for purchase (required for everyone on the premise)
SAFETY:
Following items are required to race. No exceptions:
- Full face racing helmet that is still in certification, Per WKA 2024 Supplement to TM-115.1 Head Gear. (must have one of the following certifications- Snell k2015, k2020, SA2015, SA2020, M2015, M2020, CMS2016, CMR2016. SFI 24.1 2015 & 2020, SFI 31.1 2015 & 2020, SFI 41.1 2015 & 2020, FIA 8859-2015, FIA 8860-2018)
- Neck collar for all classes.
- SFI approved chest protection required for drivers 12 and under.
- Abrasion resistant gloves
- Abrasion resistant clothing (Karting suit or jacket and jeans) no hoodies. Appropriate foot ware (preferred kart race boots, ankle protection). No long hair exposed (baclava or head sock required) Rib protection is recommended.
TECH:
Tech Sheet– to be completed in entirety and turned in PRIOR to entering grid for practice. Driver must present kart and all safety equipment for compliance to the Tech/Safety inspector. Once tech/safety inspection is satisfied, the Kart will receive a tech/safety sticker to be applied to the kart. Kart and driver will not be allowed on the track without the sticker. No exceptions. Grid worker will check each kart for the sticker or turn the kart and driver back.
Tech/ Safety sticker- One per Race Day. Must have prior to entering grid.
Scale area box- Once qualifying begins until the scales are closed, no one other than the current drivers coming off the track will be allowed into the white box area. All other must stay out. All karts will be loaded outside the white box area. Only allowances are, if directed by staff to assist with kart or driver and at the scale staff’s discretion when checking kart weight in between races with no competing karts coming off the track. Violations will be subject to DQ of driver.
Tires– The set of tires that a driver qualifies with will be the set of tires that the driver uses for the whole race day. When karts are leaving the scale ‘s immediately following qualifying, the tires will be marked with the color of the day for tech purposes.
Markings– Once a kart has qualified, the tech inspectors will mark/seal all points on an engine for the remainder of the race day.
Tech Items- will be determined at the end of each session/ race by the tech inspector.
ADDITIONAL RULES:
Must have transponder working and on the kart for the morning practice (Live timing will not be used in its place). Fastest laps times will set the qualifying order per class. If a transponder was not on or not working during practice, then the affected karts will line up at the back of the timed qualifying pack by their number plate on the kart (from lowest to highest number).
